"Food Defense" means resiliency of the food system — reducing the impact of system attacks or catastrophic events.
"Food Safety" means food system reliability — reducing exposure to natural hazards, errors, or failures in the food system.
"Food Protection" is an umbrella term encompassing both "Food Defense" and "Food Safety."
"Food Security" is different — it refers to food supply sufficiency: access to nutritionally adequate and safe food.
